The goal of the curriculum at St. Peter Catholic School is to form students intellectually within the context of Catholic education. In order to achieve this goal, we are preparing our students to be insightful thinkers and speakers who have a solid basis in their religion and a solid mastery of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology, art, music, and physical education.
Religious education is at the heart of the entire curriculum at St. Peter School. St. Peter defines its own specific curriculum, modeling state and national standards, as well as the religious standards suggested by the National Catholic Education Association. Our graduates are prepared to excel academically, welcome leadership responsibilities, and become productive members of society.
The Pre-Kindergarten program at Saint Peter focuses on preparation for Kindergarten and beyond through exploration, social interaction and play - the right balance to develop, support and challenge your child. Our classrooms are fun and adventurous, where life skills and Kindergarten preparation are taught through play. Your child will learn from teachers and mentors who are loving, nurturing and faith-centered. They learn how to play with others, understand how things work, problem-solve and use their imagination.
In our primary grades, concrete, active learning continues to engage young minds and hands, even as concepts become more complex and understanding deepen across disciplines.
On a given day, our Kindergarteners might be reading The Gingerbread Boy and sending gingerbread men in a letter to loved ones far, far away, while our 4th Graders study the Beatitudes and create rap songs to help remember them.
Our Middle School continues to empower students to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing space where they are able to take risks and discover their strengths. Our students stay children—just as they developmentally should be—as they develop appropriate maturity. The results are clear and remarkable. Our students leave our care extremely well prepared to succeed in high school.
Parents of Saint Peter students can be confident that upon graduation their child will be well-prepared for whatever path they choose.
